- Design for Michigan Manufacturing (DFMM) is an economic development program, accepting applications on a rolling basis, aimed at increasing the production of Michigan-made products. DFMM provides essential design for manufacturability services to ensure products and technologies are durable, reliable, and cost-effective, supporting the growth of sustainable businesses.
- I4.0 Implementation Grant is MEDC’s Industry 4.0 grant program that provides 50% reimbursement for qualifying I4.0 technology costs up to $25,000. Proposed projects must take place at a Michigan manufacturing facility.
Innovation
- Emerging Technologies Fund provides matching dollars to support the commercialization of SBIR/STTR projects in Michigan.
- ID Ventures provides early-stage investment capital to high-tech startups.
- The Michigan Central Talent Innovation Training Fund provides up to $7,500 per employee for critical skill training to eligible Southeastern Michigan tech startups with Detroit-residing employees, with applications open now and a deadline of February 15, 2025; apply here, attend an info session here, and access the outreach toolkit here.
- Project DIAMoND – Phase 2 offers 250 businesses a grant-funded opportunity to receive a state-of-the-art 3D printer and hands-on training at the Digital Transformation Center in Auburn Hills, MI, with a rolling submission deadline to apply.

- Evergreen Climate Innovations 501vc ® Investment Fund invests in early-stage climate tech startups in the greater Midwest region, with mobility being one of their qualifying climate tech sector categories.
- Michigan EGLE: Charge Up Michigan is building a statewide DC fast-charging network, supporting EV infrastructure with funding for equipment, installation, and site preparation to enable seamless long-distance EV travel across Michigan and into neighboring states and Canada.
- Michigan Mobility Funding Platform provides grants to mobility and electrification companies looking to deploy their technology solutions in Michigan.
- The U.S. Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs are accepting applications through February 26. These competitive, non-dilutive funding programs support small businesses in advancing Federal R&D.
