MIBA and Technion Spotlight Israeli Innovation and Optimism

Written by Rachel Fine, MIBA Community Engagement Manager

The MIBA partnered with American Technion Society to host a dynamic event elevating Israeli innovation and resilience. Moderated by the MIBA’s CEO, Scott Hiipakka, the panel discussion was composed of Saul Singer, co-author of the acclaimed book “Start-Up Nation,” and Professor Lihi Zelnik-Manor of the Technion. Attendees engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on Israel’s economic advancements as the speakers illuminated the country’s enduring strengths and the Technion’s role in shaping its future. Themes of optimism were echoed by the panel and audience, particularly connected to the concept of post traumatic growth and the ways Israel has repeatedly taken turmoil and struggle and turned it into improvement and development. The discussion was followed by a Michigan themed dessert reception and book signing of Saul’s recent release, The Genius of Israel. The event highlighted Israel’s global impact in innovation, leaving guests inspired by insights into the nation’s technological ecosystem.
