What is the background of the kickoff to the MIBB StartUp Competition?
The Michigan Israel Business Bridge (MIBB) is a bi-national chamber of commerce dedicated to trade, development and research opportunities between Michigan and Israel. Because of MIBB’s commitment to the Michigan-Israel business community, the organization will be hosting a start-up competition in the spring. Prior to the spring competition, select companies will be previewed at the Ambassador Awards Dinner on November 2nd.
What will happen at the Ambassador Awards Dinner?Selected entries will be shown during the dinner. These entries will be automatically be given confirmed entry in the spring event. Company representatives do not need to be present for the video to be shown.
What is the definition of a startup for this program?
- Annualized revenue of less than $5 million
- At least 3 full-time employees
- Has incorporated some form of innovative technology into its product or service
- Has raised a minimum of $100,000 (USD) in equity funding
How does a startup enter the kickoff?
- Be interested in working with Michigan or Israeli companies
- Register for the Michigan Israel Connect Program
- Send a finished 2-3 minute creative video to MIBB by Friday, October 21, 2016
What is the process for sending my video?
Videos should be sent via the app WeTransfer and mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
How and when will finalists be notified?
All StartUps will receive an email by Friday, November 4, 2016 regarding the company’s status in the MIBB StatUp Competition Kickoff Event. StartUps that have been selected by the attendees of the Ambassador Awards Dinner will be automatically given a spot at MIBB’s spring StartUp Competition Event.
What is the fine print for the competition?
The video is not allowed to be a solicitation in any form. The video is strictly a digital marketing piece to educate MIBB about the StartUp with the possibility of being selected to participate at the spring event. StartUps agree that MIBB can use their video and information in promotional materials for the kick off and competition. MIBB is not responsible for the content or technology associated with any of the pitches.
